Mission Statement

“To put faith in action by advocating for affordable housing on a statewide basis and partnering with people and organizations to enhance the health and development of Ohio Habitat for Humanity Affiliates.”

Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity of Ohio is a nonprofit, charitable, faith-based housing organization whose purpose is to assist Ohio Habitat for Humanity affiliates in increasing production of affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Ohio is a recognized state support organization by Habitat for Humanity International.

Habitat for Humanity of Ohio supports the 67 local Habitat offices by providing services related to advocacy, training and resource development. In addition to being a centralized resource for Habitat offices around the state, Habitat Ohio works toward establishing partnerships with corporations and government agencies to further the mission of the Habitat program in Ohio.

Ohio Habitat affiliates build simple, decent and affordable houses and provide interest-free mortgages to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home.

In 2010, Ohio Habitat affiliates built, rehabbed and recycled 168 single-family Habitat homes valued at more than $16,000,000. To date, Ohio Habitat affiliates have built 4,000 Habitat homes and rehabbed over 300 Habitat homes for deserving families. Habitat affiliates typically serve households with incomes at or below 60% of the area median income.

Ohio Habitat affiliates experience an average foreclosure rate of 2%. This foreclosure rate is lower than the state and national average.
