How to Start a Restore
In an age when Habitat for Humanity’s accomplishments are measured more by
families served than by houses built, and Habitat for Humanity affiliates are
challenged to find new and innovative ways to fund and accomplish their missions
while partnering more deeply with their communities, a Habitat ReStore can provide
a challenging but rewarding solution.

SHOP
Training at HFHU
The Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP) is a competitive HUD-funded
grant program that encourages the development of affordable housing utilizing
the “self-help” or “sweat equity” model. The "SHOP Pre-Applicant Training"
contains all the information you need to make a decision about applying for SHOP
awards. "SHOP Certification" fulfills the SHOP training requirement
and contains all the information you need to manage and administer SHOP awards.
It is designed to allow you to complete each task one by one, rather than completing
all the tasks in one sitting.
